How Youth Innovation Can Protect Local Waterways
By Kieran Grey Edwards, Abeile Rein Edwards, and Talan "Junie" Edwards
Young people aren't waiting for permission to tackle environmental challenges. Across the world, youth innovators are developing tools, leading cleanups, and advocating for healthier waterways.
Fresh Perspectives
Youth bring fresh perspectives to old problems. Unbound by "the way things have always been done," young innovators often see solutions that others miss. This creativity is essential for addressing complex environmental challenges.
Technology as a Tool
Today's youth grew up with technology, and they're using it to address environmental issues. From water quality monitoring apps to data visualization platforms, young people are building tools that make environmental data accessible and actionable.
Community Connection
Young people are deeply connected to their communities. They swim in local lakes, fish in nearby rivers, and play in neighborhood streams. This personal connection drives a genuine commitment to protection and restoration.
Our Story
Cloudburst Collective started with a simple question: How can we help people understand the water around them? From that question grew H2gO, and from H2gO grew a broader mission of youth-led environmental innovation. We believe that young people can—and should—lead the way.
